CHANGING MORALS

                                                                      

A German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche , in his book 'Beyond Good and Evil' , arguments about how good and evil are expression of same character. We can understand it in a better way with the Example of height . In loose language a person will be considered as tall if he/she has above average height than the rest of person in his/her surrounding and will be considered as short if he/she has height of below average in his/her surroundings. Tall and Short are expression of same character i.e. Height.(Mendel's laws Example but Mendel's law has nothing to do here). Similarly Good and Evil are expression of same character. 

The best way to describe the character could be Ethics. Generally Ethics is defined as moral principles that govern a person's behaviour or the conducting of an activity. A person always acts as expression of her/his morals and society judges the person on their current trending morals. These trends change over a period of time.

WARS 

Ten Thousands of years ago, when there were many small scale wars between tribes , there was no set of rules for wars. You could attack the enemy in the sleep and there was no objection. But if you would have done something like 300 years ago in a war , you would have been marked as 'War Criminal'. Almost all the tribes's heroes were War Criminal but at that point they were resorce providers of their tribes. 

FORCED ACTS

Thousands of years ago , among Humans , Males used to fight for Female. The Male who won the fight would  consummate her without her approval. The Strongest male would have maximum wives. Males were allowed to have multiple wives and he would be marked as powerful man. Only few socities (himalayan mountain regions had polyandry culture) followed polyandry that too with reason of less resources. Things are very different in today's era's western society. Women are living in different conditions and almost every region of world is moving in a direction that upports women except some regions. Now doing some of the previous pasts acts , anyone would be called 'Rapists'. Many of past heroes were 'Rapists' but their era's society respected them. But new morals discarded them.

COWARDS

Even in same era and in same society trending morals among two different communities could be different. Like Rajputs in 1700s considered attacking to back side of enemy as a sign of being 'Cowards' but almost the era Marathas used the technique of Guerrilla Warfare in which they used the advantages of geography to hide themselves and do the surprise attacks but they used to look it as an act of 'Strategists'. Many of Marathas heroes were Cowards in the eyes of Rajputs but now most of the rajputs respect that part of maratha history.

NOT ALWAYS IN SAME DIRECTION

Morals don't only change in one direction. They fluctuate. Afghanistan by end of 1970s had adopted morals which provides women more choices for their body but by the late of 2021 ,taliban conquered area and if their morals continued to propagate their new morals won't be able to support to more choices to women. Then their heroes woulde be male dominating. The same can be observed in India over a long period of time . India which has now trendy morals of discussing sex as taboo. It wasn't same before . Ancient India had a mainstream sex book Kamasutra which discusses sex and life. This book gave importance to orgams of both males and females and New York Times Review says that it matches today's level of many terms. Although Kamasutra wasn't all about equality but it is at far better position for comparing equality than other contemporaries of that era of the world and even India's Medieval era. Medieval India's Sex Book 'Ananga Ranga' Only talks about male oragsm and completely ignore Women's orgasm. 

HEROES OR VILLIANS

In India Mughals are very controversial figures. Some people consider them as heroes who built structures and some people consider them as villians who killed other religion people. Most interesting fact about is that now they are tending to be equal to each other in numbers (My Estimation).When such power dynamics become equal after that we'll know whether India will have new morals or old one. When their number will be almost equal our generation may be witnessing one of interesting moral changes in India.

Conclusion

Morals were changing , are changing and will always be changing . It may go in any directional depends on the power dynamics and in changing stages there will an equilibrium point before shift. Heroes will be decided by new morals. So , one can be hero of future generation if he becomes hero of his generation and his generations morals will be continued by future generation. If future generation accepts vegans as new standard of morals then meat eaters will be Villian of future genrations. That's why many Rulers and Influential people try to propagate their morals.
